Why it matters

Most couples spend years discussing logistics — who picks up, what’s for dinner — and almost no time on the questions that actually shape their family: values, discipline, the kind of parents they want to be.

DeepDialogue gives you those questions, one card at a time, so the most important conversation finally happens — on purpose, not in the middle of a crisis.

What's inside

Four kinds of questions, one shared direction.

The 108 cards move from the everyday to the deep — covering the four areas where parents quietly drift apart.

i.

Values & Goals

What you each want your child to carry into adulthood — and why.

ii.

Roles & Responsibilities

The mental load, the division of labour, the things that go unsaid.

iii.

Discipline & Support

How you respond when it’s hard — and where your instincts differ.

iv.

Vision & Future

The long view: the family you’re building, one year at a time.

How it works

No rules. Just one card at a time.

There’s no winning, no scoring, no right answer. Just a question, and the two of you.

1

Draw a card

Pull one question. Read it out loud. Let it sit for a second before you answer.

2

Answer together

Take turns. Go deeper where it matters. There’s no rush and nowhere to be.

3

Come back each year

Play again in twelve months. Watch how your answers — and your family — have grown.

Our story

It started with one honest question.

Before we became parents, we sat at our kitchen table and asked each other something simple: are we actually aligned on how we want to raise a child?

What followed was a conversation most couples never have — about values, expectations, the kind of parents we wanted to be, and the childhoods we were each quietly trying to recreate or avoid. It wasn’t always easy. But it gave us something rare: clarity, before one of the biggest responsibilities of our lives.

When we shared those questions with friends who already had kids, we expected nods of recognition. Instead, almost none of them had ever had the talk — until a crisis forced it. So we turned our questions into a deck of cards, and DeepDialogue was born.

We still play it ourselves every year. And every year, our answers have changed — because parenting isn’t static, and neither are we.

— Sarah & Tom

We weren’t fighting about our daughter. We were fighting about how we were each raised — and neither of us had ever said it out loud.

“Some of these questions I’d secretly asked myself but never said out loud to my husband. Saying them together gave me so much reassurance about what we’re doing.”

What families say

Conversations that actually changed things.

★★★★★

Annual marriage check-in

We use the cards once a year now to reassess and adjust. Marriage maintenance, made intentional. Still going strong.

★★★★★

I vent, he fixes

I need to vent, he wants to fix. We learned to ask what the other needs before responding. Simple, but it changed everything.

Susan S. · verified

★★★★★

A united front

We used to solve problems separately, and it created distance. This taught us to face things as one team.

It’s designed for parents of children aged 0–16, but it’s just as valuable for couples expecting a child, or those simply thinking about starting a family together.

Thoughtful prompts around parenting values, discipline, emotional support, communication, roles, and long-term vision — designed to spark honest conversations, not surface-level answers.

Draw a card, read the question, and answer it together. There’s no right or wrong way. Play one card or a whole session — and revisit the deck once a year to see what’s changed.
